This was the first race for the Lotus with the Seven motor. At the start, Paul drives into first overall position, with the 2.5 Trans-Am Alfa GTV right behind him. The Alfa tried to pass the Lotus for several laps, but was unable to do so. Paul had a good lead on the field, until the rear suspension broke late in the race (around 9:40), forcing him to watch the last few laps from the side of the track. Good job, Paul, and better luck next time!
