The Cooper S engine is identified in part by having ten (10) head studs and one (1) bolt. This as-original AEG248 bolt is a special, tapered 5/16" bolt as was used on the water pump end, as it was deemed that there was not enough material in the Cooper S block to support a 3/8" stud.
