This spring is found under the right-hand diff side cover of a rod change transmission; applies pressure to the detant ball that locates the shift selector rod.

The tie rod that runs diagonally from the lower control arm to the subframe is a frequent candidate for replacement. Ref: 8G4249, 8G4249K.
